Community Helper Museum
Students create a classroom museum showcasing what they have learned about firefighters and police officers. Each student contributes one artifact — a drawing, a labeled diagram of a tool, a dictated or written fact, or a piece of artwork — and presents it to visiting families and schoolmates during a culminating sharing event. Students practice explaining their artifact using complete sentences.
How it is judged: 4 - Student clearly explains their artifact with two or more details, uses vocabulary from the inquiry, and engages the audience with confidence. 3 - Student explains their artifact with at least one detail and uses some inquiry vocabulary. 2 - Student describes their artifact with prompting from the teacher. 1 - Student is not yet able to explain their artifact independently.
